Reflexive Codes is an AI design research studio.
We believe that recent advances in machine learning are redrawing the conceptual boundaries that have long structured product development. Yet most product design practices remain tethered to frameworks built for Software 1.0. To truly adapt to the genAI paradigm, teams must move beyond static roadmaps toward high-velocity learning cycles grounded in real-time collaboration and responsive forms of prototyping. This shift is increasingly legible in human-computer interaction itself, where work on generative, malleable, and adaptive interfaces treats the interface not as a fixed surface, but as something that can be rendered, revised, and reconfigured in situ.
This move from deterministic planning to exploratory experimentation does not simply accommodate the uncertainty of AI systems; it works with the emergent affordances of large models. As interaction paradigms become more mixed-initiative, adaptive, and dialogic, product teams need design frameworks that can absorb contingency without collapsing into ambiguity.
At Reflexive Codes, we collaborate closely with AI product teams to build bespoke design frameworks for iterative innovation. These frameworks help teams fold contingencies back into the product development process by aligning around adaptive vernaculars for dialogic innovation. Drawing on design methods, ethnomethodology, and grounded theory, we delineate bounded contexts for exploration, constructing ideal end-states that can be approached iteratively through the triad of design speculation, critique, and empirical experimentation.
